Overview
An established Australian finance company needed to launch a new product with no dedicated page and no content cluster. Despite a domain authority of 48, organic click-through was zero. The timing added complexity: Google AI Overviews had already launched in Australia, and B2B buyers were increasingly turning to large language models to research financial products. The client needed to compete in both traditional search and AI-driven discovery from day one. One Egg designed and executed a 360° SEO and GEO strategy to build product authority from scratch and secure visibility across Google and the major AI platforms simultaneously.
02 · ChallengesChallenges
- No dedicated product presence. The product had no page. There was no content
cluster. Organic visibility came from incidental keyword mentions on unrelated pages. - Zero organic click-through. The site generated approximately 2,500 impressions
per month. The average ranking position was 47. The client received zero clicks from
product-related queries. - Bank-dominated competition. Major banks held dominant positions
across all high-intent product terms. There was no established non-bank position to
inherit. - AI blind spot. Google AI Overviews were already active in Australia. The client was
absent from LLM-generated responses. Key competitors had already secured visibility. - Content that missed the buyer. Existing content targeted traditional keywords. It did
not reflect how B2B buyers search in AI tools.

- 360° strategy & audit. One Egg ran a full competitor analysis. A
technical audit was completed. SEO and GEO recommendations were produced. The
cluster architecture was defined before any content was created. - Technical SEO & AI readiness. Schema markup was implemented across all cluster
pages. Mobile speed was optimised to improve both user experience and crawlability.
The site architecture was optimised to ensure full readability by AI crawlers. This laid
the foundation for extraction by Google AI Overviews and large language models. - AEO-first content framework. The team shifted from traditional keyword research.
Detailed B2B buyer personas were built. All target queries were re-mapped into
natural language questions. These questions mirror how buyers search in AI tools. - AI visibility benchmarking. A structured AI visibility audit was conducted. It covered
Perplexity, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok. The client’s share of voice was
compared against key competitors. Findings were used to sharpen content for AI
extraction and citation. - Cluster content execution. 36 AEO-optimised content pieces were published
between November 2025 and April 2026. Content included a dedicated product page,
comparison articles, use-case guides, worked examples, and FAQ-rich articles. Every
piece was built to earn AI citations. - Conversion-focused link building. A targeted backlink strategy has been deployed
and remains active. It focuses on the cluster’s highest-converting pages. The goal is to
strengthen domain authority on the terms most likely to drive pipeline.
04 · ImpactImpact
- Impression growth. Organic impressions for the product cluster grew 640%. The
daily average moved from 85 to 632. This happened within seven months of the
cluster launch. - Ranking gains. Average position improved from 47.3 to 15.3. That is a 32-place
improvement. Select queries ranked at positions 1, 2, and 3. - AI visibility. The client is now cited as a recommended option in its sector. This is
consistent across all five major AI platforms: Perplexity, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude,
and Grok. - Pipeline growth. Qualified organic opportunities grew 4× year-on-year. The cluster
converts at 16.67%. That is six times the site average. - Proof of concept. Seven organic opportunities were generated in Q3 FY26 (January
to March 2026). This pipeline did not exist 21 months earlier. The model is now the
replicable blueprint for adjacent product clusters.
